Hi, Esther.  One of the most significant changes Congress made to the ERC in late 2020 was allowing employers who took first- and second-draw PPP loans to also use the ERC. The ERC was initially not available to businesses that received a PPP loan, but this rule was later changed. Businesses can now qualify for the ERC even if they received a PPP loan, but they cannot claim the credit against wages paid with PPP loan funds.
